Goblin

Description: Shrewd, greedy, and ruthless, goblins have a long-standing reputation for being neutral in the rest of the world. Although one goblin cartel did in fact side with the Horde during the Second War, currently the only goblins to abandon their neutrality are those of the Bilgewater Cartel, formerly of the isle of Kezan. Heroes of goblin society are not bastions of honor or integrity. Instead, goblins tend to admire the ruthless acquisition of profit, by any means necessary.

Appearance: Goblins are slight and wiry, averaging 3 feet in height and weighing between 30 and 50 pounds. They have long, sharp noses, chins and ears, and green skin. Their arms are long and slender and their four fingers (three fingers, one thumb) are deft. They tend to wear leather clothing, often cut into aprons to protect against caustic fluids. Goggles usually cover their eyes, and various technological devices are strapped across their bodies.

Faith: Goblins place their faith in themselves and in gold. They raise eyebrows at insubstantial concepts such as shamanism and the Holy Light, preferring gods they can see, weigh, and spend. However, seeing the potential for personal profit, some goblins have become priests and even shaman in recent times.

Names: Every goblin has a given name and a family name. The family names portray some ancestor’s achievement, though a goblin may take a new family name if they feel they have made an accomplishment that outstrips that of their eponymous forebear.

Racial Traits

+2 Dexterity, +2 Intellect, -2 Wisdom: Goblins are nimble and cunning, but lack foresight.
Small: Goblins are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Normal Speed: Gnomes have a base speed of 30 feet.
Best Deals Anywhere: Goblins gain a +2 racial bonus to Appraise checks when attempting to strike a bargain.
Better Living Through Chemistry: Goblins gain a +2 racial bonus to Craft (alchemy) checks. Additionally goblins receive Brew Potion as a bonus feat at 1st level, even if they do not meet the prerequisites.
Goblin Engineering: Goblins gain a +1 racial bonus on Craft (technological device) and Knowledge (engineering) checks. Goblins are also treated as proficient with any weapon they have personally crafted.
Shady Dealings: Goblins gain a +1 racial bonus to Bluff and Stealth checks.
Time is Money (Ex): Goblins reduce the time of all Craft checks by half.
Languages: Goblins begin play speaking Common, Goblin, and Orcish. Furthermore, goblins with high Intelligence scores can learn any unrestricted languages they want.
Favoured Classes: Alchemist, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Oracle, Ranger, Rogue, Summoner, Wizard.
