World of Warcraft: Recurring Nightmares
Description: Nearly driven to extinction in the Third War, the blood elves, or sin’dorei, are a proud and resilient race. Although their numbers may have dwindled due to tragedy, notable members of blood elf society stand as beacons of tenacity, courage, and the strength to fight on, regardless of what foes stand in their way.
Appearance: Courtesy of their exposure to fel magic, the eyes of the sin’dorei now produce an emerald glow. They typically have fairly long hair, generally do not grow their facial hair to gigantic proportions until old age, and generally stand slightly taller than their human gender counterparts. As a general rule, blood elves are also slim, athletic, strong, and graceful. Furthermore, they all have large pointed ears that tend to be greeted with admiration (or mockery) by other races. Like all elves, blood elves are considered highly attractive by the standards of most mortal races.
Faith: As former high elves, several blood elves were members of the Church of the Light. Following their conversion to the sin’dorei, and utilizing less noble methods to sate their addiction, a number of the sin’dorei felt and for a time believed that the light had abandoned them. However, with the Sunwell restored, now a mixture of both hold and arcane power, many have converted back to the Light’s teachings.
Names: The past is a burden to the blood elves, yet they maintain naming rituals that are millennia old. Many of the names of elven priests and heroes have become the names used for elves in modern times. The blood elves share a connection with the sun that is quite prevalent in their choice of family names.

Mana Tap (Sp): Once per day a blood elf may cast Dispel Magic as a spell-like ability, with a caster level equal to the user’s character level. If this is successfully used to counterspell a 3rd-level or lower spell, you absorb the countered spell. If you are a prepared caster you regain the use of a single spell you cast since the last time you prepared spells. If you are a spontaneous caster you regain a single spell slot. If you have levels in both types of spell casting then you may choose how the spell is absorbed. The spell recovered or spell slot regained must be of an equal or lower level than the spell you counterspelled. Alternatively, you may use the absorbed spell to replenish the use of your Arcane Torrent racial ability.
Arcane Torrent (Sp): Once per day a blood elf may cast Magic Missile as a spell-like ability, with a caster level equal to the user’s character level.
